The latest hardware update shrinks the cooling hub and boosts sensor counts, though a mandatory subscription remains.

Eight Sleep has launched the Pod 6, an updated "intelligent sleep system" that focuses on a significantly smaller hardware footprint. According to reporting from The Verge, the company completely re-engineered the electrical, mechanical, and software systems of the cooling hub, resulting in a device half the size of previous versions that is designed to fit beneath most beds.

Beyond the size reduction, Eight Sleep claims the new hub is 20 percent faster at adjusting temperatures. The system also sees a major upgrade in biometric tracking; while the 2025 Pod 5 utilized two sensors, the Pod 6 features 18 sensors. This allows the system to track snoring, breathing rate, heart rate, heart rate variability, and sleep stages for two people, while distinguishing between pets, children, and adults.

Pricing for the Pod 6 Standard ranges from $2,699 for full-size mattresses to $2,999 for king and California king sizes. Eight Sleep has also introduced a Pod 6 Solo option for single sleepers, priced at $1,999. The system remains compatible with a $999 cooling pillow cover.

Despite the hardware changes, the system requires a mandatory subscription to access the AI-powered Autopilot feature, which automates temperature adjustments based on collected health data. This subscription costs between $199 and $399 per year for two sleepers, as reported by The Verge.
