The City of Toronto designates a temporary cultural corridor to celebrate the K-pop group's Arirang World Tour and local Korean Canadian culture.

The City of Toronto has officially unveiled BTS Boulevard, a temporary street designation on Yonge Street in North York, according to a City of Toronto news release. The honorary designation extends from North York Boulevard to Finch Avenue and will remain until Wednesday, September 23.

The move coincides with two sold-out Toronto performances by the K-pop group as part of their Arirang World Tour on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23. To mark the event, the city has proclaimed those dates as "BTS Weekend" and will illuminate the Toronto Sign at Nathan Phillips Square in purple.

According to the City of Toronto, the initiative aims to celebrate both the musical group and the city's vibrant Korean Canadian culture. The project includes 20 street signs featuring a red design based on the tour's visual branding, which were produced with a donation from Sunray Group of Hotels. Visitors can utilize a "Korean Vibe Guide" provided by the Yonge North York BIA to locate the signs and discover local Korean-owned businesses.

Once the installation period ends, the ceremonial signs will likely be given to NeighbourLink North York for a free giveaway; the organization will share further details at a later date.
