West End to Host New Multi-Venue Music Crawl

Toronto's west end is set to host the Second Summer Music Festival, a new three-day event running from Sept. 24 to 26. As blogTO first reported, the festival operates as a city-wide music crawl across 12 different venues rather than utilizing a single site.

Co-founder and Artistic Director Brendan McCarney told blogTO that the event is designed around the concept of discovery, allowing attendees to encounter both emerging and established artists across a wide array of genres. McCarney noted that the vision was influenced by his experiences at global festivals, specifically The Great Escape in Brighton, U.K. He and festival director Claire Rosenbaum chose the west end to highlight the area's nightlife, food, and diverse neighborhoods.

The 12 participating venues include: * Lee's Palace * The Dance Cave * The Mod Club * Sneaky Dee's * Baby G * Wavelength @ St. Anne's * The Garrison * Monarch Tavern * Collective Arts * Drake Underground * Bovine Sex Club * Horseshoe Tavern

Performers will include international and domestic talent, such as the Toronto-based band Absolute Treat, singing duo Cartel Madras, and Adriance Yonge, a producer for artists including Snoop Dogg, blogTO reports. General admission tickets are priced between $71.37 and $147.77, plus taxes and fees.
