As LLMs eat into traditional web traffic, ChatFeatured is launching a platform to help brands optimize their visibility for AI-driven discovery.

As BetaKit first reported, some view the "AI SEO" pitch as a solution searching for a problem. But for founders trying to figure out where their traffic went, the shift is tangible. ChatFeatured is betting that the way customers acquire products is fundamentally changing in the LLM era, and they've secured the capital to prove it.

**The Funding** ChatFeatured, a Toronto startup, announced Wednesday that it secured an oversubscribed pre-seed equity round of $2 million USD (about $2.8 million CAD). The round was led by Storytime Capital, with additional participation from Garage Capital and BY Venture Partners. The company, which currently operates with a five-person team, intends to allocate the funds toward go-to-market efforts, product development, and team expansion.

**The Product Angle** ChatFeatured is positioning itself as an AI search optimization platform. As reported by BetaKit, the tool identifies how major chatbots are currently mentioning specific companies and then generates a strategy to increase that visibility. This includes creating content and implementing website fixes designed to make a brand's digital footprint easier for LLMs to pull from and reference.

**The Market Thesis** CEO Farris Nasr told BetaKit that the technology could level the playing field, allowing smaller businesses to compete more effectively against massive brands. Nasr described the current landscape as shifting from a "David versus Goliath" dynamic to one where the competition is more balanced.

**The Data Driving the Shift** BetaKit points to several data points suggesting a pivot in consumer behavior: * A study by SEO agency Eight Oh Two found that 37 percent of consumers used AI tools to start web searches rather than traditional engines at the start of 2025. * Research from the Pew Research Center indicates users are less likely to click links found in Google's AI overviews. * Data from Calgary's Koat.ai shows that as of May 2025, more than half of all internet traffic originated from bots rather than humans.

**Strategic Nuance** Not all AI models are viewed as equal. ChatFeatured CTO Nithiiyan Skhanthan told BetaKit that visibility needs vary by sector. Specifically, Anthropic's Claude is noted as being exceptionally popular among SaaS businesses, leading ChatFeatured to charge a separate fee to track visibility within that specific model.
