York Regional Police are seeking additional victims after charging Wylie Zi Hin Lam in connection with the exploitation of a former student.

York Regional Police have charged a Toronto man following allegations that he sexually exploited a youth student at a music studio in Markham. According to reporting from CityNews Toronto, the suspect, 33-year-old Wylie Zi Hin Lam, is accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a victim starting in 2022, when the girl was 15 years old.

Investigators say the victim came forward to police on Monday, July 6. On Thursday, July 23, Lam was charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and sexual interference.

Because Lam may have taught music at various other locations throughout the Greater Toronto Area, York Regional Police expressed concern that there could be more victims. Authorities are urging parents and former students with information to contact police or submit anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers.

As noted by CityNews Toronto, these allegations have not yet been proven in court.
