Toronto FC Tests Resolve Against Griezmann and Orlando City

Toronto FC enters Saturday night's matchup against Orlando City riding a seven-game unbeaten run, according to Sportsnet. The Reds have recently faced two of the world's most prolific scorers, securing a 2-1 road victory over Lionel Messi and Inter Miami last month and fighting to a 4-4 home draw against Robert Lewandowski and the Chicago Fire a week ago.

Now, Toronto faces another international star in 35-year-old Antoine Griezmann. The forward, who previously played for Real Sociedad, FC Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid, arrived in Orlando as a free agent this July. Since his debut on July 22, Griezmann has recorded seven goals and three assists in nine MLS starts, including a current four-game scoring streak with six goals.

Orlando City beat reporter Mike Gramajo told Sportsnet that Griezmann's arrival and his ability to elevate teammates have been huge factors in the team's turnaround. After winning only one of their first eight games, Orlando has suffered just two losses in their last nine matches, climbing to sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

Toronto coach Robin Fraser praised Griezmann's professionalism and commitment to the league, contrasting him with aging stars who treat MLS as a "paid vacation."

For Toronto, the stakes are high as they currently sit in 10th place in the East. They currently share the same point total as New York City FC, the team occupying the final playoff berth in ninth place. With 10 games remaining in the regular season, a victory on Saturday could propel Toronto into a playoff position.
