The AI giant enters the physical goods market with a mix of productivity tools and novelty sports equipment.

OpenAI has launched its first piece of hardware, a $230 mini keyboard described as a “command center for agentic work,” according to reporting from TechCrunch.

Alongside the keyboard, the company released a $70 ChatGPT basketball as part of a “Pause. Play. Prompt.” campaign. TechCrunch notes the product listing frames the ball as a physical reminder that creativity extends beyond screens. The basketball is constructed from 100% rubber, making it more weather-resistant for outdoor use than professional leather balls.

OpenAI is also expanding into apparel with a new line of merchandise. This includes a $175 quarter-zip featuring the word “research” in cursive, which the company claims evokes days spent in academia, as well as clothing featuring inspirational phrases such as “Good research takes time.”
