New demonstrations reveal the unboxing process and ergonomic accessories for Valve's upcoming VR headset.

Valve recently leaked several videos detailing the unboxing and setup of the Steam Frame, its virtual-reality headset capable of local play or PC streaming. According to reporting from The Verge, the videos briefly appeared on the ARM Steam client following an update before being removed, as noted by the Steam Hardware Updates account on X.

The leaked footage showcases the device's hardware adjustments, including the use of "pivot arms" to shift the headset's position and a spacer for users who wear glasses. The Verge reports that one video demonstrates the use of a wireless dongle that connects to a Steam Machine or PC for game streaming.

Valve also revealed an "Ergonomic Accessories Kit" designed to enhance stability and fit. This kit includes a top head strap to improve weight distribution, hand straps for the controllers, and an extended light blocker specifically for users with smaller noses to ensure a better seal.

First announced last year, the Steam Frame features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, an up to 110-degree field of view, and LCD screens with a resolution of 2160 x 2160 per eye. While Valve has not provided a specific launch date, The Verge notes that the company previously targeted a summer release. This timeline, combined with the leaked videos and a recent shipment of 13 tons of VR headsets, suggests the product may launch soon.
