The open-source database provider is expanding its footprint within Microsoft Fabric and OneLake to accelerate real-time analytics.

ClickHouse has announced a significant expansion of its strategic collaboration with Microsoft, aiming to integrate its real-time analytical database more deeply into the Microsoft data platform, as first reported by the Financial Post. The move centers on four key developments: the debut of a native ClickHouse workload for Microsoft Fabric, the general availability of OneLake read, a public preview for OneLake write, and the introduction of ClickHouse Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) through the Microsoft Marketplace.

The integration is designed to allow data teams to run sub-second queries within the Fabric experience without needing to maintain separate clusters or ETL pipelines. Yury Izrailevsky, President of Product & Engineering at ClickHouse, stated that the collaboration brings ClickHouse performance to where customer data is already located, ensuring capabilities are integrated into the platform rather than layered on top.

By combining the unified data estate and governance of Microsoft Fabric with the speed of the ClickHouse query engine, the partnership targets highly concurrent agentic workloads, real-time interactive dashboards, and observability tasks that were previously difficult to serve directly from a lakehouse. The expansion builds on the existing use of ClickHouse Cloud on Azure for AI/ML pipelines and business intelligence.
