While Brooke Henderson remains the top-ranked Canadian, a wave of teenage talent is emerging as the domestic pipeline strengthens.

As the CPKC Women's Open begins at Royal Mayfair Golf Club, the focus is shifting toward a growing collection of young Canadian talent challenging for the spotlight. While world No. 11 and defending champion Brooke Henderson remains firmly in her prime, 15 Canadians are competing in the field, signaling a sustainable rise in domestic golf success.

According to Sportsnet, 17-year-old Anna Huang is among the most prominent newcomers. Ranked No. 45 in the world, Huang has already secured four wins on the Ladies European Tour, making her the youngest golfer to achieve that mark. Her recent success includes a victory in London where she defeated world No. 6 Charley Hull.

Other rising stars in the field include Aphrodite Deng, who was the low amateur and tied for 20th at last year's event, and Clairey Lin, who recently became only the second Canadian to win the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship. The field also features Shauna Liu, a three-time consecutive Canadian Junior Girls Championship winner, as well as NCAA Division I winners Lauren Kim and Vanessa Borovilos.

Henderson noted that the growth of the game in Canada is evident, stating that it has likely never been the case to have this many players performing at such a high level. Huang attributed her own rapid ascent to determination, hard work, and a strong support system from her team and family.
