The venture firm is expanding its war chest to target the full AI stack as companies remain private longer.

Bessemer Venture Partners has raised $5.75 billion across two new funds intended to accelerate investments across the entire AI stack, as first reported by TechCrunch.

The capital is split between two distinct strategies: $1.75 billion is earmarked for seed and early-stage investments, while $4 billion is dedicated to growth-stage startups. This deployment follows a period of aggressive activity for the firm; TechCrunch reports that Bessemer has invested in over 260 AI-native companies since 2022, totaling $3 billion in investments to date. These investments span several sectors, including foundation models, compute, infrastructure, agentic tech, dev tools, and app-layer startups.

Bessemer's portfolio already includes several high-profile names such as Waymo, Perplexity, Anthropic, Cognition, Ramp, Legora, and Shopify. The firm previously established a reputation for identifying enterprise SaaS winners, including Gainsight, DocuSign, and Box.

In a funding announcement, Bessemer Partner Byron Deeter stated that AI-native companies are scaling at a faster rate than any other technology category the firm has previously backed. Deeter further noted in a statement to Bloomberg that the increase in venture war chests is a necessity due to a "permanent structural shift" in which companies are remaining private for longer periods of time.
