Anker has unveiled the Eufy MindBase, a smart home hub designed to serve as a "central brain" by running a proprietary, on-device large language model (LLM). According to reporting from The Verge, the MindBase allows for advanced AI processing of camera footage locally, meaning data does not leave the user's home.
The hub features a dedicated AI chip and supports up to 48TB of expandable storage. These hardware specifications enable features such as event summaries and natural-language search across recordings without requiring a monthly subscription fee. Beyond security, Anker intends to expand the hub's utility by adding "clean agents" for robot vacuums and "energy agents" for home power management.
In terms of connectivity, the MindBase acts as a Matter 1.5 controller supporting over 40 device categories. Janet Jin, a spokesperson for Eufy Security, told The Verge that the system will integrate Matter-compatible third-party cameras. The hub supports 16 wireless cameras, four wired cameras, and 34 sensors, including the new Smart Security Shield sensor which utilizes 180-degree dual radar.
Anker also announced several hardware additions at IFA 2026, including the TrackLight Cam S1, the E10 window camera (priced at $70), and the Eufy S4 video doorbell. The S4, which costs $299.99, offers a VR-inspired mobile experience with panoramic footage. While Anker has not yet disclosed the price or release date for the MindBase, the company is positioning the shift toward local compute as a core part of its security overhaul following previous controversies regarding its encryption claims.
